While I am fine with a Private company doing Business, I think the larger issue was the lack of quality control, the blatant ignoring of the issues by the city, and the fact the city went from what they had to these people to save "money". Its also astounding that a simple test for lead never showed them anything.. by astounding I mean criminal, cover-up and unbelievable.
No city should be doing business with Veolia anywhere in the country at this point. I mean if they made toaster ovens with the same quality control they would have a forced recall right? The City council has a lot to answer for but the courts need to bankrupt Veolia with penalties for their actions. They need to pay for the total clean up and replacement of the water system in all of the cities where they have caused this to happen.
