CPT Jack Durish George H. W. Bush was tired and acted as if he didn’t want to get re-elected and campaigned in a lethargic manner.

Remember that bad economy hurt George HW Bush's reputation. Admittedly, Trump's reputation is still stable due to current economy of early 2019

Early 1990s recession in the United States - Wikipedia
The United States entered recession in 1990, which lasted 8 months through March 1991.[1] Although the recession was mild relative to other post-war recessions,[2] it was characterized by a sluggish employment recovery, most commonly referred to as a jobless recovery. Unemployment continued to rise through June 1992, even though economic growth had returned the previous year.[3]

The economy is his strong suit (and never mind that Presidents are rarely the determining factor in the state of the economy)

I think the recent absolute rejection of AOC's Green New Deal is a good demonstration of how the Democrat party is in disarray. On the campaign trail they can talk endless about supporting it to win over voters, but when it's their time to vote in the Senate on the proposal, they all show their true colors. As I see it, these Democrat candidates want to fire up the voters of the more extreme elements of their party, but they also don't want to lose their core base of supporters such as the labor unions.
