I find Brother Allen’s talk to be a bit condescending. His manner of speaking while seeming to be positive I believe is patronizing to listeners. It just doesn’t work for me. It’s probably just me.
I don’t know about Black men needing to understand the quotes mentioned. It seems to apply to all people to me.
I suppose I don’t see speaking to one color or group of people as constructive. I see us as all having the same problems that “we” need to overcome to be good Christians, Catholics in my case. Only speaking to one part of society invites separation and suspicion against others. MHO’s

I've listened to many religious people say great things in a seemingly condescending tone. In a video, where I can stop at any point, I can sometimes ignore the tone if the message is clear enough. His seemed decent enough, but it isn't just you. I think those more serious and sensitive to the topic of improving themselves as a Christian might feel the same way.

SGT (Join to see) - After thinking about it I didn’t like the way Brother Allen phrased his questions. To me it seems he phrased them in a way to make wrong assumptions that he could correct. Example: Brother says in his first example most people pray “God give me more of your spirit.”
To me most people pray “God let me accept your will.” He them goes on about God doesn’t give himself in pieces, ect. To me that is the condescending part. Like I said, I believe it’s just me. Sometimes we just don’t like how others speak. I should have kept my mouth shut and not respond to this one. I apologize.

SFC (Join to see) - Doesn't bother me either way. I'm not Christian and don't know the Bible well enough to go in-depth on such matters.
