Did you ever own/drive a car with a Wankel engine? I did. One of the fastest cars I ever owned. Damn thing could do 90 in first gear and I still had three gears to play with. And there wasn't any vibration. That's why I often overdrove it until I glanced down at the speedo and realized how fast I was going. If ever you get your hands on one, never, ever power shift it. (That's when you keep the accelerator to the floor while you shift) You can get away with it driving a piston engine because the engine will hang out at the red line while you shift. When I tried it with my Wankel I blew the clutch plate to smitereens. There were pieces of it embedded in the bell housing and the service manager said I was lucky that none of them ended up embedded in me. As near as he could guess the engine was cranking about 18,000 rpm by the time I took my foot off the clutch pedal.
