Maybe I'm not understanding your meaning, so I apologize if my assumption is off track. I assume you mean gun crime needs more research. Gun crime has been quite well researched and analyzed by Pew, by RAND, by the Crime Prevention Research Center, and by the FBI, to name just a few. But real research is lost on the gun-ignorant masses. It also doesn't help much when a former VP says we need to ban magazines capable of holding multiple bullets (does he realize he just banned ALL magazines, hence ALL semi-auto weapons?). Or when people hear "semi-automatic" and equate that to a machine gun (fully automatic). We need an educated public, not a panicked public.
