Do you know about Cultural Support Team (CST) Female Soldiers? I went through SOCOM's first Assessment and Selection for CSTs open for the Army Reserve/National Guard in March 2011. Although I was not selected, one of my teammates from Team #1, 2LT Ashley White was selected . 1LT Ashley White (U.S. Army National Guard) paid the ultimate price for our Freedom on October 22, 2011 in Afghanistan.
Gayle Tzemach Lemmon, wrote a book about Ashley and her experiences as a CST Soldier - “Ashley’s War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield (Harper, April 21, 2015)”
It is a great book, and I highly recommend reading it.

CSM (Join to see) wow thanks for bringing these brave actions of our Women Veterans in the Special OPS community to the forefront, which is rarely discussed. Outstanding read and share.
Each night these soldiers gathered information that saved the lives and limbs of both Afghan and American forces alike. Like the night that Kimberly, a military police officer, went out on a combat mission alongside a skeptical SEAL team. They didn’t know why she was there or what value she brought to the mission – until she helped them locate the intelligence item they were seeking wrapped up in a baby’s wet diaper. Or the night Isabel, another member of the team, received an award from the Rangers when information an Afghan woman in the compound shared with her helped to confirm that the man whose home they were in was indeed the insurgent they were seeking.

I have the book, and have slowly been reading it, but being Civil Affairs my knowledge of CST/FET is greater and being honest Civil Affairs women were first although there were limits placed on our CA females because of the issue of women in combat.

I have been slowly reading Ashley's War more so because I knew when she was killed and was one involved promoting women in combat.
