Howlin' Wolf - Wang Dang Doodle [HD]
The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions
Chester Arthur Burnett aka The Wolf. I've loved his work since The Howlin Wolf Sessions early 70s. Had Clapton, Wyman and Watts of Stones, and Steve Winwood. Awesome album. All I have now on CD is a double - Moanin in the Moonlight. Wish I'd seen him. Saw Ray Charles at Tunica a few months before he died, and Buddy Guy at an IL casino. I'm loving Joe Bonamassa sometimes. Saw him at Ryman, Nashville. Many don't realize the influence these blues masters had on the British Wave. Led Zep 1 was almost totally covers. Willy Dixon sued them for Whole Lotta Love off II. Settled out of court. Stones were full of blues covers forever. Thanks.

You got it. That riff Robert Johnson invented has, in various forms and permutations, given me a whole lot of pleasure through my life.

We have a blues station here in town, but its license must be for 10 watts or something. Near power lines it gets overwhelmed by a station in Tulsa, 180 miles away. I still have it on most of the time in the car. Old man music, I guess.
