11 June article about the first time a theoretical wandering rogue black hole, may have actually been detected earlier this year.
Despite the headline it is still considered to "potentially" be a free-floating Black Hole, being the first time something that conformed to the combination of variables that could suggest it is a wandering black hole, has been detected.
The theoretical rogue "object" was detected by Hubble, using microlensing.
Sounds like the basis for a good space horror movie, considering that in the scheme of all things 5000 light years is not all that distant - especially for a rogue object that may not be confined to any known speed limit!
The surety of the discovery is that it actually is a "wandering object". It will be interesting to learn what else can be discovered about it!
