Hit and killed a smallish Texas white tail a few weeks ago......road is a 45 I was doing , errrr, about "45" Stayed up and rode it home.
Just got around to working on that bike the other day, beside the broken fearing and fearing mount, twisted right side radiator I found a broken fan, bent faring stay and torn rad hose.

Luckily I have all the parts on hand... so no cash outlay... Just time and spares.

Hit one about 20 years ago in the company car while taking my son to a basketball game. Saw him standing alongside a 6 foot tall barn wire fence and flashed between high/low beams. He clear jumped fence and ploughed into the front of car and my son says "wow dad, you killed a deer"! I got out and started counting the tips in his rack. At 13 (I was not finished counting....), he stood up and clear jumped the fence. After telling my story at work, all the hunters called in sick and evidently tried to find him...

I had one come over my front wheel. I didn't lay it down, but left a long black mark on the pavement.
I almost had a wild turkey take me out too, the feathered kind, not the liquid one.

CPT Lawrence Cable I would believe that, at least the deer will try to jump over the obstacle in its path. A turkey would walk right into your wheel like it was not even there.

I have heard the animal that causes the most death in the USA is the deer . By accidental interaction with vehicles of all types. Ant this is a safety issue in certain parts of the country caused by poor game management.
