Weird story. It's very rare to find someone that is 100% Italian, Spanish, Indian, Irish, Ugandan or etc. I'm not thrilled when society keeps throwing up the race topic all the time. And the biggest and hottest race topic is the Black & White. As if there has been and still is a war against the races. For generations military personal have been getting married to women & men from other countries and then bringing their new spouse back to the states. Mixing of the races is old news. In fact that is the new fad to have your DNA tested and they will tell you exactly what your lineage is. Disliking other people for what ever reason is a human past time. I'm not saying it's a good one but lets face the facts. Pick a Continent and show me two to three countries and you know you can find tons of racism right there. South America and tell me if it exist among st them? of course. How about Africa? Oh ya, they are so much so the slaughter complete villages. How about Asia? Yup there too. Then we come to USA and we are supposed to be the melting pot. Okay lets read that again. We are supposed to be the melting pot. Meaning what? Different breeds live here from different lands and we enjoy Freedom unlike the other countries we came from. Short answer. Why is race being thrown into our face again? Because there are complete groups that earn their living on it continuing.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - Exactly and I mean no disrespect to you. But stories like that get me. Heck I have probably an might in the future post something to that degree. But they just make me think of what you just said,, Behind the curtain. I pray that more people will wake up and see it.

I think mixed race women are often the most gorgeous. I don't know why anyone would feel uncomfortable around a mixed race person. I have always been fascinated by people's backgrounds, and if someone looks interesting, I'll ask about it. But I'm polite -- anyone crass enough to ask "What are you" deserves whatever they get. I usually ask, "Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?" If I get permission, I'll ask, "What's your ethnic background?" I have had a lot of good conversations with people that way.
For the record, I'm not mixed anything, except maybe different flavors of white.

Here is an amazing fact. Those that do not mix breed have more genetic problems. Those that introduce a different breed or many branches away have better genetics. Almost all so called Royalty have crazy genetic problems after awhile no matter the culture or continent. This also is the same for animals as well as humans.

Well said. My children are mixed race and they grew up with that knowledge. They also grew up with 100% support from my wife and I.
I especially agree with this from the article:
"To them, the implication that I might see them as a racist was much worse than the fact that they already were."
We see that all the time.
