I don't know about Turkey's role in fighting Daesh aka theIslamic State, but To the untrained eye this just seems like a convenient schwacking of Kurds the Turks feel have gotten too big for their britches.

This pot was going to boil over. The roots of the Kurdish threat to Ankara goes back as long as two two centuries. Aggravated from 1991 onward by US Support, more so 2003 onward. The only reason it has lasted this long is we restrained calls for recognition of Kurdistan under a one Iraq plan and we were talking diplomatically with an Ankara that listened. Erdogan is another kettle of fish all together. Surprised he has not left NATO. Further aggravated by confusing messaging and diplomacy from Washington. Now weak sauce out of NATO.

1SG John Faircloth leading up to this point, specifically resisted recognizing Kurdistan because it would have been this. Not sure why this week was this week in Turkey but that is why there isn’t a Kurdistan
