Beliefs are very delicate things. Nothing is quite so reassuring as when you find someone who shares your beliefs nor so threatening as when they have other beliefs. Inasmuch as beliefs are just that, beliefs and not founded in observably provable data, there will always be doubt. Thus, I challenge my own beliefs, constantly. Those challenges have led to me leave the religion into which I was born and adopt another. I have also been led to alter my socio-political- eoncomic ideology (although, to be fair, my changes have been to look for other groups who share my beliefs while maintaining the same beliefs). I have challenged others as I have challenged myself. Sorry if they are afraid but I am always looking for that person, that idea that causes me to change again. If I was wrong once, I could be wrong again. Sadly, I find few who are willing to accept those challenges. However, that is their problem, not mine...

I've tried with my wife, I have better luck talking to a brick wall.
