General Allen is a lap dog of the political elites and he knows it. He stands up at a convention of people, many of who despise him and the armed forces. So much so that a chant starts during his speech. He is a stooge and he likely knows it now.

He stood in front of a convention that jeered a MOH recipient and chanted against Allen and his assembled group. "No more war" was the chant as Allen extoled the virtue of service and sacrifice to country in the armed forces.

Not all generals are lapdogs. Some stand their ground, say what needs to be said, pay the price if necessary. Their oath is to the Constitution, not a political figure. You should know that but it seems to have slipped your mind.

SGT Efaw (Mick) G. It is not unusual for the networks to have military experts on staff to help them report the news or provide color commentary on events related to the military since the media is woefully light in reporters/correspondents etc. with any experience whatsoever.

Allen and Flynn are indeed both retired but when you decide to enter the political fray, expect to draw fire. Unfortunately for Allen he picked the side that disdains the armed forces. He was roundly jeered and had chanters against him and his group trying to stand tall and support the armed forces. An absolute disgrace and embarrassment for him and his other retired leftists.

I have no issue with them entering the fray but some here seem to think Allen is above reproach by Trump because he was a general office. The general embarrassed himself and the Marine Corps by casting pearls before swine at the DNC (clearly not all attendees jeered, I am talking about those that did).

Watch the video of Allen and the MOH recipient being taunted. Disgraceful. How anyone can support that party after wearing the uniform is beyond me.

He insulted a "war hero's" family, not the service-member. Wrong to do so, but still a different thing. As to Gen Allen, he put himself out there and chose sides, he should expect return fire. Trump is crass and needs a self-editor, but anyone who stumps for one side should expect a reply from the other side. I would prefer (and expect) more civility from our representatives (or candidates), but it's all fair game at this point in out uncivil society we will get uncivil candidates. Why surprised?

Glad I'm not the only one that saw he had nothing but praise for the actual service member... the captain was no part of this.

MAJ Carl Ballinger - no, everyone who runs for higher office has some bit of narcissism. He just hasn't had years in the public spotlight as a career politician to polish his responses or mute himself. HRC is no less contemptuous of the people. I am not excusing him at all, but singling him out is false too. We get the government (and the choices) we deserve. Our reality TV, celebrity worshiping, low information, mis-educated populace deserves these two poor choices. It's a farce, but it's our farce.
