just get rid of the spec rank, stream line the whole process, whether a spec4 or cpl you'll still be in charge of the people below you, make BLC mandatory prior to becoming cpl, bring back TIS/TIG requirements

I always felt that this should have been occurring to begin with, to better prepare an individual for being an NCO...I had CPL basically thrust upon me in '89 when my battalion became a COHORT unit and I was kept as part of the leadership cadre. I asked my PSG "What do I do?" he told me to act like the 2 SGTs, probably not a good idea, they were both asses in the way that they led and it rubbed off on me. Made pints for SGT in Feb '90 but didn't get a PLDC slot until May, so pretty much for a year I was OJT and it took a long time for the ass part of my style to ebb away...
