As a descendent of Pocahontas I’m offended that they would think that that is cultural appropriation I would like to see everybody dressed up as Pocahontas on Halloween as a celebration of my ancestor

How 'bout we have a "Practice Halloween" to help people not be offended by every little stupid thing someone else does?

If my wife and I want to dress up as, say, Thing 1 and Thing 2 from a Dr. Seuss story, there'll be people crawling out of the woodwork over that nowadays. (Google Dr. Seuss, racist)

If my son wants to dress up as a clown over his recent love of "It", there'll be people up in arms over that. (Google clown laws, united states)

If my daughters want to dress up in clothing that, in any way, exhibits "masculine dress", there'll be transgenders, and social justice warriors up in arms about that. (And yes, I used "transgenders" as a noun.)

If my kids do dreadlocks for Halloween, some people will be offended because of "cultural appropriation". (Google it.)

If my son chooses to dress up as Donald Trump, snowflakes everywhere will have a conniption. (No need to google...it's all over the media.)

Here's what I say: Outside of actual, DELIBERATE attempts at being offensive, how about people have a nice, piping hot cuppa STFU with three cubes of "get over it" and a splash of "use some common sense".
