Oh, come on. We aren’t going to ignore the elephant in the room are we? No lowering the standards for women, but can fot all.

If everyone had the pleasure of serving on a relatively small warship that are underway most of the time, in higj tempo ops, it would be easier to understand why much of the Navy doesn’t place calisthenics at a premium. Those of us that are in an assignment that calls for physical fitness up to the par of Army or Marines, I’ll stack them up against anyone. Ask any SEAL and possibly Riverine.

Funny thing is, the only time we had for such activities was in the 70s during a 30 month tour of shore duty.

CSM Hayden that is a big ole hells yea. Before I went to the SFQC I went to IOBC and after I had been SF a little while I went to the IOAC. Infantry was the coolest, I loved being in the bush.

LOL - what about Map Reading? We had to RUN 5 MILES IN 40 MINUTES OR LESS IN BOOTS TO GRADUATE FROM ARMY OCS. We also had to do a 25 mile road march. Give me a break. This is garbage

It's possible to design a test of any nature that no one would or could pass, or only the top .0005% etc. But is that all the applicants you want in your organization? The ranks of MC officers would be considerably thinned if only a minute %age of applicants could pass the PT in order to succeed.

Tom I will give you the fact you are MC Officer SME, I was Army, however, every MC Officer I ever had any dealings with were badass knuckle dragging barbarians. These wanted it to suck more. Damn I am getting motivated thinking about it.
