Looks like the next time I take a trip to Jackson I need to rent a Tank for the occasion.

Interestingly, while Jackson violent crime rates are well above national rates, the state as a whole is below the national violent crime rate. The article attempts to cite the states open carry law as a contributing factor, but the rest of the state doesn't reflect the high rates of Jackson. Lived in Mississippi for 10 years and worked in Jackson for 7 in the 80s and 90s, traveling regularly to every town with an hospital and my wife's family is still there. Jackson was, and still is, an outlier with a significantly differently attitude toward life and social responsibility. The difference was not race related, but 1SG Russel Scott made some good points in his discussion.

So?? Guns kill. I haven't heard of any mass kitchen knife killings. Anyway, go stuff it. We all know what happens when people are confined or restricted for a long period. Stupid laws and lies to promoting gun manufacturers wealth and crate a mass availability of a way to kill just don't help. And these laws DO need to be criticized and abolished. Only a fool supports this crap.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand I just have ask. If or when your one of your Soldiers were late to formation, did you blame their watch or clock? If or when one of your Soldiers got a DUI, did you blame the car or the alcohol? If or when one of your Soldiers failed height/weight, did you blame the fork? No, you didn't. I'll bet you gave them the 'personal responsiblity' speech just like every other NCO and officer has. My point is you're blaming an inanimate object. Which can't operate until a human being pulls the trigger of said object.
