As long as the message is verbal or written I have no problem with sending them a message. If it involves dead bodies I will take a pass.

Imagine if the US was playing catch up with another peer competitor in military technology and that peer competitor decided to attack us to prevent our ability to advance our capability. How long should we pretend that countries we do not like are not allowed to advance technologically? I don't like the leader of Iran either but you have to look at things from their perspective.

I am looking at from the perspective that the United Nations had an agreement with Iran, that they are no longer abiding by and they are harassing us in international waters and that if nothing is done, I believe it will grow worse. Also, I do not believe that Iran(state sponsor of terrorism) is even close being equitable to the United States in any sense of the word, and I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion or idea that Iran can be equally compared to the United States.

SCPO (Join to see) - Oh yes, Iran whom we labeled as a "state sponsor of terrorism"; I'm sure Iran has labeled us something like "state sponsor of crusaders against Islam" to drive rhetoric that we're their enemy. Labeling a nation as something to drive foreign policy should not drive closed minded bias. When India and Pakistan researched and established themselves as nuclear powers, our primary concern was to prevent hostilities between the two countries. Iran wants same capacity in that region and our true concern is preventing escalation between Iran and Israel. Iran like N. Korea can't touch US with ballistic missiles. I'm not saying Iran can be equally compared to US but they do want to be as much of a peer competitor to US, China, Russia, India, Pakistan, etc. That desire is what's driving one of their ambitions from a foreign policy stance.

MAJ James Woods I do agree that a major concern for the US regarding Iran is Israel, but not just Israel. But to your point, Israel is enough of a reason. I would also be weary of making claims such as that regarding North Korea and Iran's capabilities.

What message do you want to send? And how do you want to send it?

Well a great start would be financial and economic sanctions.... The last administration did not do so, for fear that it would jeapordize the "Iran deal" which they are clearly violating... not to mention continuously harassing our ships in international waters. I would then authorize the boarding and seizing of said vessels.

Sanctions would be great but I doubt that we would get enough of the world to go along to make them meaningful, the US doing so alone is meaningless. trhe on ld sc sanction worked because it was a group effort

Trumps talk about the previous Iran sanctions was pissing on the shoes and insulting the other nations involved. He has no moral capitol to spend in the developed world to press the issue. When your best and oldest allies have debates on whether to even let you into their country you do not have much diplomatic clout
