Iraqi forces release 1,500 prisoners from ISIS underground jail

Iraqi forces discovered a previously unknown ISIL prison during the advance to liberate the town of Hit. It was reported that there were 1500 prisoners most of whom were civilians.

"During their advance to liberate and clear the town of Hit from the (ISIS) group, security forces were able to discover a large prison," AFP quoted police Col. Fadhel al-Nimrawi as saying. "The prison was underground" and held 1,500 people, who were freed by security forces, Nimrawi said.

Liberating the town of Hit is important because of it's location between the Ayn Al Assad military base and the center of Ramadi.
