Is it time to talk about repealing the 17th Amendment?

The States lost much of their power in the unpleasantness of 1861-65. The US has moved into a world where democracy has been swallowed by populism...and the result is writ large not only at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue but also at the other end of the mall. The end state will likely include the dissolution of the US and multiple nation-states with nuclear weapons and the meshugoss to use a few.

I would be for the states taking back the election of Senators if it was not for the fact that it seems like at the moment this is something Republicans want just because more state legislatures lean Republican than Democrat which would potentially just booster their party's power in the Senate. There is a problem with direct election as Senators now care more about appeasing the masses then doing what is best for their state so that they can get reelected but I do not know if 17th Amendment repeal would fix that.

You all know there's only three states. California. New York, and everyone else. Cali and New York decide everything and everyone else has to do what they say
