Interesting there are now 1 million Americans living in Mexico. I know at one time it was good for retirees. I also know their is some large American Legion post in Mex.

Americans, for the most part, are financially independent, and take their wealth earned here with them, benefiting Mexico. Good for México and expats. México emigrants, for the most part are uneducated and poor laborers. Relieving México of the safety net responsibility and send $26B home in remittances (CNN BUSINESS). Again, a double win for Mexico. Seems to be a trend here.

Even though I have never been to Mexico I know there is beauty there and it is a damn shame that the corruption has been allowed to overwhelm the best part of it. I would not recomend moving there until it is sorted out for what its worth. I may be a civilian though I do know enough to say that with great confidence
