The US military has been fighting terrorism in Africa for a long time. However, it has somehow escaped notice until recently. The spread of terrorism in Africa is a growing problem.

I remember reading Soldier of Fortune magazine in the 70’s about all the Mercs fighting in Rhodesia. It all seemed so exciting... not so much in real life. There is a lot of pain and suffering going on in Africa that most of the US seems oblivious about.
