Interesting decision by Israel. Directly engaging against Daesh/ISIS like this puts everyone else fighting against Daesh on the side of Israel who is fighting Islamic extremists. It has the potential to cause a lot more harm than good, I hope this doesn't backfire.

Yes it could but history has shown us Israel has never backed away when confronted. They will defend themselves at all cost regardless of the outcome or how it looks or effects others.
