I worked on an FMS (Foreign Military Sales) contract which supported the IAF from 1993 to 1998 - they generally modify what we sell and tend to trust their software in some applications over our software COL Ted Mc
I can't go onto the details but they generally prefer to understand the systems they are getting so that they can fabricate hardware and modify software or replace it when it makes sense fro their purposes.
They were not the typical FMS customer :-)

LCDR (Join to see) - FYI, FMS in the context I was using it stands for Foreign Military Sales. I am modifying my response to make that clearer.

Well, now I feel stupid. FMS in airplane speak is the flight management system, which we mod for each aircraft. Womp womp

LCDR (Join to see) - thanks for pointing out my oversight.
I usually write out an acronym stands for because I know that initials and acronyms mean so may different things. After I read you post I modified my original response to make it clear what I meant.

LTC Stephen F. - Colonel; I REALLY don't expect you to discuss anything that is sensitive on this net.
PS - Actually the IDF preferred the Centurion to the Sherman. They considered it a "Cadillac" in comparison.
