United States A-Bomb destroys Hiroshima, over 75,000 die in the first-ever use of nuclear weapons in the history of mankind, now 74 years ago. After one more bomb at Nagasaki, the world has managed to avoid their use for more than 7 decades since... with many close calls and a lot of continuing diplomacy and other efforts all aimed at de-escalation and non-proliferation.

The US is the only nation to use these weapons. I read the Greatest Generation and composed. an article in this regard. Within a few days some of our soldiers witnessed the utter devastation. Many humans closest to the blasts were vaporized. And Pres. Johnson, out of sheer frustration considered
using a nuke in Vietnam over 72 hrs period. Thankfully, he decided not to!

They should have marked the anniversary of the March 10th bombing raid that burned 250000+ people to death and made close to a million homeless. Then explain why it took them until August to figure out they were beat...
