I really hate to say anything against John Lewis. I read the accounts of what he did during the Civil Rights movement, and he will always get my admiration for that.... But, Mr. Lewis, there was an election. Get over it and move on....

I am embarrassed that I spouted in an insulting manner without knowing more of the man's background. Thank you for the steer. Thanks to it, I've begun broadening my knowledge of Representative John Lewis. He's done a lot to earn respect and better treatment than I gave him. I retract my "nut job" characterization ... though I'm not quite sure what to replace it with.

Intentional or not, you were quite right to call my attention to it ... and I was quite wrong to pigeonhole the man in the first place ... without at least knowing something about him beyond the cited article. I try not to do that, got carried away with myself, and got brought up short by you ... intentional or not, correctly. I learned something from you ... and got reminded of something by you.
