Isn't that kind of what undercover people do?

I will admit I am biased. I worked a number of UC cases, mostly narcotics, and just about every time the asshat defense attorneys would claim entrapment. I've followed this one and have not seen that. Just another defense attorney protecting criminals.

This is too biased of a report, and does not reflect all of the facts "After two days of arguments and testimony, a Jackson County judge ruled Tuesday that three men accused of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer were not entrapped by law enforcement, clearing the way for the case to go to trial." These guys were not set up, "Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson said he found no evidence that the government pressured or targeted the defendants, nor did a key act to escalate the case"

If I understand correctly the ruling was that the FBI would have to disclose undercover names but that no entrapment was found in any of the cases.
