1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Nothing has done more to increase the cost of healthcare in America than Medicare. Look at the statistics (if you dare). The increase in costs for medical care rose similarly to inflation until Medicare was passed and greatly outpaced inflation since. I have provided the evidence to support this assertion in many other discussions on RP and don't care to waste anymore time on it. Also, I have described how I spend as much on Medicare premiums as I used to pay for private insurance, however, whereas my private insurance paid 100% of my medical costs, Medicare pays less than 20%. That is the result of bureaucratic inefficiencies and government waste. And Medicaid is nothing more than a charitable operation which has also raised costs for the rest of us while providing scant services to those in need.

The VA system is both single payer and single source with no Compton involved that is far diffence than single payer with all the sources we have of carevery few c Candia come for car we and the exceptions tend to be for optional treatments like cosmetic surgery.
