This is quite interesting, and perhaps a subtle bit of trying to appropriate some of his father's cult mystique. His father, Kim Jong Il, was reported by the government (in pamphets handed out to foreigners and in press releases) to have been born on sacred Mt. Paektu, the legendary home of the mother of the Korean race. Kim Jong Il was not only born there, according to serious government information, but immediately after birth he sprang up, donned shining armor, and rode across the sky on a magic white horse brandishing a sword.
