So, they are restructuring to better compete in an evolving marketplace? Not really sure that is a surprise. Companies do that all of the time.
Is your belief that they wouldn't see the need to restructure if they just paid more in taxes?

MAJ James Woods, I'm not really sure why you are being so hostile in this exchange, but you didn't really answer it at all. I only asked if you believed they would not have seen the need to restructure if they had not received a tax cut.
Your response didn't address that at all.
Then you attack me for asking your opinion and make assumptions about my beliefs?
I don't know if they would have or wouldn't have. Logically, I would be inclined to believe that they would still have restructured. If they see a need to restructure after paying 20% less in taxes, then I would expect they would see the same need if they paid 20% more. That certainly isn't definite, but it seems to make sense.
As it stands, I cannot answer my own questions, nor do I pretend to be able to. There are a few reasons for this. Chief among those is that I asked your opinion (which would be difficult for anyone but you to answer). Secondarily, if I knew the answer to all of those questions I would not need to ask them, and I would likely be making much more money as a consultant/lobbyist in D.C.
I am not really sure if government action does/can create job growth. I mean, outside of the obvious job growth that can stem from the government actively hiring people. I also did not say anything about what the economy has or has not been doing over the last 7 years, so I am not really sure why you attacked me over your assumption about my beliefs about that.

PFC Jim Wheeler - You shouldn't ask others to offer an opinion by asking them questions when you're not capable of developing your own opinion and answering the same question. It's called conversation. I've answered your question twice now and you continue to dismiss it and not provide a counter argument. You're not a journalist so stop treating this like an interview accusing me of not answering then asking follow up questions and then provide zero input on what your own opinion on the topic. Develop your own position on a topic before criticizing others; claiming you're not sure of what to think or what to believe or not to have an opinion can be perceived as cowardice or ignorance. Step up and tell us what you really think.

As for my beliefs, in general, I believe tax cuts are capable of leading to job growth, but I don't believe that comes from supply-side tax cuts. I think that demand-side tax cuts are the only kind that make sense. Cutting supply-side does nothing to create more jobs because a business only creates as much as there is demand for, and taxing the populace whilst lowering taxes on a business does not lead to more demand which does not lead to more supply. Generally, I would be inclined to believe that decreasing taxes on the people, giving them more disposable income to purchase with (increasing demand), would be the most effective way of bringing about job growth.

MAJ James Woods What? I shouldn't ask questions that I don't already have answers to? That sort of negates the whole purpose, doesn't it? One of the first steps to forming an opinion (as I am sure you know) is asking questions and gathering information. How is one supposed to do that if everyone they ask is as hostile as you are being right now?
Why does there need to be counter argument? I wasn't aware of the fact that we were arguing. Why does it even have to be an argument? Honestly, I am not even sure if we disagree on anything yet since you have been more interested in assuming things about me and attacking me over those assumptions than you have been in having any honest conversation.
Hell, I didn't even criticize you, as far as I can tell. I just asked an honest question that you really haven't answered. Actually, you haven't clearly attempted to answer any question. Sometimes conversation involves questions and answers, but that doesn't work if you don't give any honest attempt to answer the questions and instead attack your peers over assumptions you make about questions you never ask.
