"Maybe, just maybe, with the shooting death of Justine Damond, millions of white people, for the very first time, will now see a victim of police brutality, and see themselves"
This dude is an idiot.
Police brutality? No...case of the stupids by a Police Officer most likely.

This will never be covered by mainstream liberal media. It CANNOT be covered. You see, the police officer is a minority with a funny name. So which villain do we vilify more--the victim of police use of force, or minorities? Answer: neither. Bury this story. No victim, no villain. Make this story go away.

SSG Trust Palmer this is stacking up to be bad. Body cam was turned off. No reason given by the officer for shooting at this time. And, of course, everyone is pointing out that he was lauded by the Chief as being the only Somali officer on the force.
This thing is going to stink like a 3 week old dead fish.

SSG Trust Palmer - I know many departments are trying to "clean house", but it's hard when the "good ol' boy" system has been in place. The vast majority of departments are starting to require bachelor's degrees to be an officer, and there are very rarely any departments that grandfather people into the department w/o having gone through an academy now.
That being said, there will always be a bad apple. There will always be that one straw that broke the camel's back & the officer snaps (think PTSD).
I just don't like all the surrounding of this one. The one thing that was CONSTANTLY drilled into our head in my academy (which was a federally funded academy) was that you ALWAYS act as if you are on camera, because you most likely are. The fact that his body cam was not on is bad juju.

Too many incidents like this. However, all I can say is, this one will be dealt with. Now people are angry and upset.

SSG Trust Palmer - oh yeah. I know folks were upset before this. I hate that the race of those involved are the focal point, but, then again, I try to live by the good Dr. King's words, "Judge not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Or as the cop was of "middle Eastern descent" was it now "religious" instead of "racist?" Oooooh...
