Two ways tanks could be obsolete --
1) if there were so many systems on the battlefield that could kill them that they couldn't survive.
2) Their survival depended on so many other systems being deployed so as to make them uneconomical. This sorta kinda mirrors the oft-repeated idea that aircraft carriers are becoming obsolete.
Neither of those situations seem remotely on the horizon for the tank.

I'm no tanker, but there was just something about hearing a buttload of M1s fire up their engines first thing in the morning.
