like any other officer that arrives to the unit, prove yourself. Only as good as your current position, doesn't matter what you did in the past.

Major, would you be so kind as to clarify. I am not sure I understand what you are relaying?

i feel if she can pull her weight then rock on good for her. My brother had some women in his unit. as people they were great people, when it came to doing the job they would fall. the excuse of, this is too heavy was the huge remark. if they can't or do not want to be part of the team it will cause a risk to the rest of the team when they have to go back and pick up the weight of those who dont cut it.
if this woman can prove herself and she can do what is required then cool.

It is easy to go to school to learn to lead Soldiers into combat, I would imagine it is another to prove you can. She will either succeed or she won't, just like any other Infantry Soldier...

Sir, with all due respect, I respectfully disagree. I am not of the belief that every one can Learn to LEAD, it is not easy to lead particularly in combat and regardless of sex. But nonetheless, just like in any leadership position we succeed or we do not by the buy in of our team with earned respect and trust? I have doubts that most male soldiers may not buy into being lead by a women. What do you think?

Don't misunderstand, I sincerely hope she does succeed. She may be tested, but it still comes down to leading your troops. She passed Ranger School, so she definitely has the ability. My OIC was a female, so I completely disagree with your assessment of "most male Soldiers may not buy into being lead by a woman". It wasn't a Combat MOS, but we are trained to follow orders. Will she have some knuckle heads who test her? Probably, but that is part of leading troops.
