He had great vision and didntmind pushing the nation further into debt. Seems like he either didn't realize it, more probably, didn't care that the future would be paying off his vision.

SGT James Murphy well, I was a wee wonder then with regard to knowing how his policies actually affected Negro Americans. But I will make not of this, as a systemic attitude, many attitudes deserved and many attitudes not deserved, Johnson was not the only President that tolerated our existence and worked with what he had. In the 1980s, while I was stationed in Charleston SC, there was a program that set with the policies of different presidential administrations supported by actual taped conversations. Ou beloved JFK in conversation RFK as Attorney General made constant references to those gd n*****s and MLK as that n****r troublemaker. Nixon did not want gd n*****s going to school with his children and on and on. Nixon is the president that made me believe I was more than an impoverished Negro child living in a broke down sharecroppers shack. Watching him after he and Red China buried the hatchet blew my 13 year old mind. I wanted to learn about the world. When Watergate happened I was glued to the television, learning. When he gave his farewell speech after his impeachment, I was forever loyal to the impression he made on my desire to live better than I had. I don't care if Johnson, Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, or Trump are racists. I don't follow their personal preferences. I am drawn to their policies. SAYING all of that, thank you Lt Col Charlie Brown for the share. I've never taken time to read about Johnson and his Administration. SGT James Murphy thank you for your input. I will seek out other sources that may deal with his policies and how they affected Negro families.
