If government is unwilling or unable to protect the interest of citizens, then what, exactly, is its purpose?
It is reasonable to expect our federal officials to put the well being of the nation ahead of any other ideological bent, and certainly ahead of the wishes of other state actors. At times it has felt as if the current administration has been too "globally" minded, to the detriment of American citizens.
I was not a Trump supporter, but as a loyal American and a Soldier, if indeed his actions mark a sea change in how Washington views its responsibility, then I am in favor of the Givernment of the United States placing the priorities of the United States' citizens first.

SFC Marcus Belt - Well, we do lose a lot of the best. Best of success to you for school!

Punishing businesses for trying to survive serves us.... how? Reduce the corporate taxes. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Sgt Wayne Wood - can't say that I disagree there! Just don't think that he didn't come to the job with an agenda and don't underestimate him or any politician for that matter...
"should we force or threaten our companies to stay or be fine"
Heck no that would be as illegal immoral and unethical as say....forcing somebody to buy healthcare insurance by threatening them or fining them

Ima suggest that the US is not a free market economy. We use incentives and regulations to help/attract/hinder or influence business all the time. I'm not saying that's necessarily bad, but it's a case where less is more.

That is true, most states and local communites use tax incentives to lure business and jobs to their area. Look at the golden triangle in Mississippi. They hired a recuiter who has used incentives and other perks to bring in several great paying jobs. What Trump did along with the state of Indiana is not that big of a deal.

SSG (Join to see) - Exactly. Anyone that wanted the company to remain an asset would have done the same.
