Follow FM 31 back the other way and you run right by my family farm, COL Lee Flemming. I've got a copy of the Mexican deed given to my fourth-great grandfather in 1832. Thanks for the memories.

We have lost far too many such historic markers across this nation. Good to see one still preserved.
I just finished reading "The Western Cattle Trail." Back in the 1930's, there were many markers placed showing the various routes this and the Chisolm trail followed, from southern Texas to Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and all the way north to Montana, but most of them also disappeared.
We have lost so much history. Sad. What is sadder yet is there are so few of us left that care.
