I guess personally I would expect statistics to more or less follow the demographics that join the military in every capacity. That would be roughly one Servicemember in six. Anything significantly over or below that would represent over/under representation. So if I use the numbers in the article, women are receiving nominations representing about one in five (21%) of the total number. So the deviation is towards an OVER representation of women as a percentage of total people interested in military service, but not significantly so.

Without looking at how many women pursue nominations to begin with, the title of that article is click-baity...it's lazy writing. Aside from all that, I hope we continue to see women represent a larger and larger percentage of nominees -- and ultimately of the overall military community. Women would bring a ton of value to the table for nearly any military organization. My 2 cents...

Amen. Some of my best Soldiers were women. I would go to war with Valento, Jones, Iwanski, Ringler, or Young any day of the week.
