Lawmakers nominate far more men than women for military service academies each year: Report

This is the kind of yellow journalism that would lead a sheep to believe we had a problem here. Down in the bowels of the article, there is a single half-sentence, "...it’s unclear if more men were vying for nominations than women." THINK about this. They never looked at the number of men APPLYING versus the number of women applying...they just posted the nomination numbers AS IF it was evidence there was sexism or preferential treatment for men. Let's get the REAL statistics before we assume there is a problem: What percentage of male applicants are nominated? What percentage of female applicants? What are the average combined scores (academic, athletic, and whole-person) of each sex? But the Military Times doesn't seem to want those numbers. It just wants drama and conflict within the military.
