That is very interesting SSgt (Join to see) that the lead which was in the "ink" inside scrolls when Mount Vesuvius erupted on Pompeii may actually help unlock those scrolls without significant damage to the scrolls themselves. The scrolls don't seem to have been destroyed rather they seem to be severely damaged.

LTC Stephen F. Indeed their very own degradation may have had an upside, in effect weather proofing the inner portions and was not a random thing, as the lead seems to have been a proactive measure. cool

This is great, once they get the calibrating done, they can give everyone an insight of what was written on the scrolls and then hopefully share this with rest of the world.

Brilliant, Can't unroll it, There is always another way. I can't wait to hear what ancient knowledge they get out of it.
