I get the context LeBron was talking about. Have you ever heard of Payton Manning's or Tom Brady's or any other white superstar's agent and business advisers referred to as their posse? No. leBron's point was that the term was used because they are young, African. american businessmen and the term is a dismissive one that has none of the professional respect given to other business advisers and agents. Ever hear Alex Rodriquez's superagent referred to as his posse? Nope. How about the agents and advisers for superstar white baseball players? Yeah, no. At best they are called their inner circle, or group of advisers, and at worst part of their entourage. But Posse? Never. So why are the agent and business manager for the richest active basketball player called a posse instead of being referred to in the same terms as used for rich white athletes? Hmmmm.

+1 just for watching the video and giving related feedback. I think it goes in the same folder as "redneck". As a country boy, I don't find it offensive. But I do believe there are times it could be used as a racist slur. Thanks again for contributing.

I'd have to say it depends on the way it was said, and the tone used. Other than that I've heard the term used quite frequently.
