A few thoughts:
- Great news. Glad to hear of negative impacts being placed upon ISIS.
- I do not think it is sound strategic policy for the administration to highlight or advertise anything about SOCOM or its subordinate units. These units can and do have great impacts but anything regarding their existence, location, activities, and/or impacts should be secret. Making any of these public will have a negative long term impact upon the ability of these units to do their jobs. Basically I am saying that the administration's policy when it comes to SOCOM activities should be "shut the frick up".
- The above is not just my opinion but also the recommendation and opinions of senior leaders such as former SECDEF's and the SOCOM CG.

I totally appreciate and respect your opinion. I am also not a fan of helping the enemy better anticipate or prepare. I have to say the anticipation/scare factor - much like testing the MOAB in '03 - might be the exact reason this information is being released. The big and obvious difference is the surgical precision Delta will achieve their ops versus shear destruction by the prospect of MOAB.

While I am glad that ISIS leaders are being taken out and intel gathered by our special forces, it bothers me a lot that this information is being released so soon after occurring SFC Chad Sowash.
The US would be better served if these types of operations were conducted without being trumpeted.

Hey Stephen, I'll share the response I had for Jason since it's pretty similar. "I totally appreciate and respect your opinion. I am also not a fan of helping the enemy better anticipate or prepare.
