Lew Allen - Wikipedia

I was “tricked” into giving General Allen and SECDEF Harold Brown a quick 3-minute briefing while I was on the SAC launch planning staff at Vandenberg AFB, CA. We were in a restricted area with large acrylic planning boards that looked pretty complicated. While standing at attention my squadron commander asked me to explain what all the “hieroglyphics” on the boards meant… thanks Colonel. As I recall, General Allen asked a few questions but Dr. Brown was pretty quiet, but attentive. General Allen was also a very tall man, probably 6’ 6” or so.
