Although said to be largely back on track after a chequered history of cost overruns and technical problems, the F-35 programme needs all of the positive publicity it can get right now after seemingly becoming the focus of the attentions of US President Elect, Donald Trump.
Trump has on several occasions since his election castigated the programme as an example of profligate defence spending, and in a very thinly veiled threat to Lockheed Martin during his 11 January press conference made the un-prompted suggestion that he might seek to have the Department of Defense conduct a run-off between the F-35 and the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.
Given the likely defensive mindset of both Lockheed Martin, we can now probably expect a whole flurry of such positive pronouncements as that issued on the occasion of the 200th handover.

Good to 200 F35s are flying. Do you have breakdown of Air Force, Navy, and Marine versions. We heard from the CO of the UK aircraft carrier, they are bringing the new ship to US to accept their F35s for testing, are those F35s comparable to Marine version ready to go? Another question which game up at a Navy League meeting is if the F35 radar etc is integrated into Aegis, the Navys venerable radar system?

Our current breakdown (of 169 aircraft, the majority of which have not actually achieved an operational capability) is:
• 36 USMC (at initial operational capability with at least 10 aircraft but likely more at this point)
• 14 US Navy
• 100 USAF (at initial operational capability with at least 12 aircraft)
• 4 United Kingdom
• 5 Italy
• 2 Netherlands
• 4 Norway
• 2 Israel
• 2 Japan
• Korea and Turkey have not yet received aircraft.
Regarding the UK's F-35B, it is comparable to the USMC variant (and RAF/RN F-35s are even assigned to the US Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501). That said, the weapons fit and other equipment will be somewhat different.
As for the integration with Aegis, the F-35 radar and Aegis will be able to work together. This is being done through the Naval Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air program.
