It wasn't too bad until i got to how Byzantium supposedly saved Europe from having Muslim armies seep into it during the 7th Century (AD601-700). Muslim armies were no a threat to Europe until the 8th Century. Then there is the reference to Byzantium as Judaeo-Christan. Jews were barred from any Civil office as well as military service. A Christian could have a Jewish slave, however a Jew could not have a Christian slave... since freedom from slavery if you were owned by a Jewish master was as simple as converting to Christianity, Jews were pretty much bared from owning slaves. They were also prohibited from constructing new synagogues. Jews were oppressed under the Byzantine empire, although not as bad as many other parts of Christendom... Byzantium was definitely not a Judeo-Christian Empire, it was an Orthodox Christian Empire.
The book is garbage.
