Many problems , one being not using propellant the ammo was designed to use.

I head about the issues with the Army's deviation of the Stoner design. From where I am sitting it would seem that someone in purchasing had stock of other financial interest in the maker of that gun powder. It truly is a shame that the bureaucrats won the day and screwed up a great weapon.
