I'd sent this in on that Marconi thread, I figured you'd all want to see it, I think I sent it in awhile back, he and another guy actually were the first true inventors of radio, Loomis actually got a Congressional patent for it, trust me, IEEE has had a movement to have him recognized as the inventor, along with other guy, just after the Civil War, for a long time now, honest, so, enjoy...I'm not minimizing the accomplishments of Marconi, merely pointing out a little known aberration, the stereotypical view, among elected engrs, is that Marconi commercialized radio, based on the research of James Clerk Maxwell, Heinrich Hertz, Edison, who all most invented diode rectification with his Edison effect, which should have won a Nobel, I think, in physics, as well as Alexander Fleming, who invented the triod,e by adding a grid to a diode to let it be used as a small signal amplifier....
