SGT John " Mac " McConnell thanks for the read/share, safety elevator is a very important part of our lives. Thanks for E.G. Otis was issued patent #31,128 for "improvement in hoisting apparatus" (safety elevator) on January 15, 1861 which is TODAY!

Thanks for sharing Otis Safety Elevator SGT John " Mac " McConnell. When I first glanced at the image it seems to resemble a guillotine. I was intrigued at patent #31,128 for "improvement in hoisting apparatus" thinking that it may have been focused on an elevator but it could also benefit the guillotine execution device inadvertently.

When I worked at GE in Erie PA we built the electric motors for Otis. They built pretty tough.
