As it turns out it's worse than already revealed. We will now need to re-enroll annually for "Select" which replaces Standard and Extra, and the fees are huge for grandfathered beneficiaries. Obviously someone is pulling a fast one!

LCDR Rabbah Rona Matlow Thanks for sharing. There are going to be be a lot of changes and transformations with TRICARE over the next couple of years. The plan is for a smooth transition, but I doubt it. One of my duties is TRICARE Customer Service, I fear that with the transition, several beneficiaries will have lapses in their coverage because their EBT payments will not get processed or their will be data corruption when DEERS is updated to reflect the new beneficiary categories. The beneficiaries that are not near an MTF will feel the cost/fee changes the most.

Thanks. I wish that CONgress and OSD really understood what we are going through. At least they haven't raised the cap (YET!!!!).

It's too bad that CONgress gets better benefits than those of us in Uniform. If they were forced to use, say, Medicaid or VA Choice, they might treat us a lot better. (Or if we had mandatory national service)...

LCDR Rabbah Rona Matlow I would add, if service in the military was a mandatory prerequisite of being a Federal or State representative. I am sure this impact their decisions concerning sending Service Members into harms way, the type of equipment they force on us, the resources to maintain the equipment, and our benefits. If they could curb the wast, fraud, and abuse - maybe they could keep 1/2 of the promises they make to Service Members.

MSG Laura Washington - wouldn't that be nice. Having an NCA that mostly never served has been a real problem for decades. At least with Mad Dog as SecDef there might be some good changes coming...
