I was with 2nd Mar Div 10th Marines 5/10, 3/10 India, finished with Echo 2/10 love working on M198's and M101A1's my guy sure loved shooting both of them too! Watching the little 105's doing direct fire was quite funny! The coolest thing I ever saw was a FPF at night. As it started we were next to one of the howitzer's and I heard "Stand by, FIRE!" Then saw what looked like something from star wars! I asked the guy next to me what the hell that was? He said the howitzer's had tracer rounds they were firing! I didn't even know they made a trace for the M198 155mm till that night, 30 years later and I still remember how much fun that night was!
