It wouldn't surprise you maybe it had some religious connotation and that's why they want to change it

WTF?! Insanity
Why? After 40 years, someone in the Pentagon decides that "The Few, The Proud, The Marines doesn't say anything about what we do? It says all it needs to say. If everyone could join, it wouldn't be the Marines. That to me speaks volumes about who and what we are. Being a recent retiree from the Marine Corps and having 27+ years of service to the Corps and our Great Nation, this disgusts me that "The Good Idea Fairy" landed in the Pentagon and sprinkled their dust on some LtCol and he and his cronies got this great idea to change OUR Slogan. Maybe it's different for Officers, but for those of us who proudly wore flat black, this isn't just a slogan, it's who we are "Few And Proud."
