IMHO, I do not feel that (Ret) GEN Amos's statements fall under Unlawful Command Influence. He was making a statement that Marines that commit these acts, that the Marines needs to be rid of them. And rightly so. The individual that was CONVICTED of these sexual crimes, based on the testimony of the victims, speaks for itself. In fact, it was the perpetrator that went to far with his actions and violated the trust that the Recruits AND the Marines gave him. Now, if (Ret) GEN Amos had told the judge and jury that they better come back with a guilty verdict or their career is toast....that would be Unlawful Command Influence. It was the acts of the Recruiter and NOT Amos that got him convicted.

the court of criminal appeals of for the Armed forces disagreed. in addition, the air force and navy have had instances of Unlawful Command Influence uncovered this is not a service specific problem it is across the DOD

Its going to come to a point that senior leaders, upon hearing the alleged acts, have no option to respond more than, "We'll make sure I get a copy of the investigation".
